Elbow

Elbow

In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, Guy Garvey has hinted that they may be playing Glastonbury Festival 2011.

The interview starts off with what he thinks of Beyonce headlining the festival, he said “Glastonbury is the best festival in the world year on year and they know what they are doing.
If they chose Beyonce to close it’s because they know it’ll be a fantastic finish.”

He also commented on Jay-Z’s performance and how “That was the fullest that the Pyramid Stage had ever seen that field.”

When asked if Elbow would be playing the festival, Garvey said “I’m not sure what I’m allowed to tell you and what I’m not.

“We are definitely going to be playing some festivals in the UK. All the best ones, let’s put it that way.”

Their next album, Build A Rocket Boys!, is out in March

UPDATE!
Look what appeared in Q magazine, Elbow to play before U2 on the Pyramid Stage on the Friday. Awaiting official confirmation, but I think we all know that it’s true.
