2011 has just started and rumours for the 2011 festival are really starting to come in now.
Rumour has it that ABBA could be reuniting and this has lead to a people thinking that they could be playing Glasto.
In an interview with a Swedish Newspaper Agnetha Faltskog is quoted to have said that she wanted to meet with her ex-husband Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Prinzessin Reuss von Plauen to discuss a comeback.
This has also lead to rumours that they will be teaming up for the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton this year in April too.
Rihanna has been speaking with Q magazine and has said that she would “Love to play Glastonbury. I have heard so many things about what happens there. I love rock music.”
Rihanna would fit the bill going on the line up for the past few years, so this could actually happen.
Bon Jovi are rumoured yet again, this year they are playing the Hard Rock Calling in London’s Hyde Park (as did Stevie Wonder in 2010) so this again is a possibility, but I expect not though.
Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones was interviewed by The Metro recently. He has been quoted as saying “I’d love to do it (play Glastonbury). I’m always up for the festivals. As far as the Stones are concerned we haven’t had a get-together for three years but it’s high time.”
However, I suspect that this would be a pipe dream as previously The Stones have wanted £1M to appear.
The Strokes have a new album out this year and could well be playing Glastonbury this year.
I can’t remember where I saw it, but Duffy is due to play the festival.
Rumours for Pyramid headliners have been branded about since the end of the last festival and have included Prince, Kylie, Radiohead.
I suspect that Kylie will play this years festival, but will take the Sunday Afternoon slot.
My current predictions for headliners are as follows, although the last one probably won’t happen as it stands, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Friday: U2
Saturday: Coldplay
Sunday: Foo Fighters
These are only predictions!
