Ticket and Registration FAQs 2009
Please take the time to read the answers to the following frequently asked questions. There is a lot of information to take in, but they really should provide you with all you need to know about registration, and buying tickets for the 2009 Glastonbury Festival.
What’s new for 2009?
Tickets for the 2009 Festival will be available from 5th October 2008; with registration opening on September 1st for those who don’t have an existing registration number.
This year there is no limit to the number of tickets one person can buy.
Glastonbury Festival is introducing a deposit system; so you can reserve your tickets by paying a £50 deposit on October 5th 2008, and pay the balance any time before February 1st 2009.
What is registration?
Everyone aged over 12 who plans to the come the Festival must register.
If you opted to save your details online (by ticking the opt in box) before the 2008 Festival, you do not need to re-register as your registration number from last year will still be valid. You will be sent an e-mail reminder of your number by Seetickets at the end of August, and can check your registration online at www.seetickets.com/see/getglas.asp. If in doubt, please re-register.
If you registered by post in 2008 you will not have had the option to save your details and therefore need to re-register.
Registration involves providing contact details and a passport-sized standard photo, and receiving a registration number. To buy a ticket for Glastonbury 2009 you will need to be registered and must be able to quote your unique registration number. Registering only takes a few minutes.
Registration does not reserve or guarantee you a ticket but it does mean that you are eligible to buy or reserve a ticket when they go on sale. Your chance of being successful is not influenced in any way by the information provided during registration.
Each ticket will feature the photograph of the person in whose name it is registered and will be non-transferable. Checks will be carried out to ensure that only the person in the photograph will be admitted to the Festival.
Registering more than once will not increase your likelihood of getting a ticket.
Data collected during registration will be destroyed one month after the 2009 Festival unless you opt to have it retained by Glastonbury Festivals for future registrations. Retained information will also be used to inform you of events run by Glastonbury Festival. No information collected through registration will be offered for sale or made available to any third party.
All data collected in 2007 was destroyed, so 2007 registrants will need to register again this year. Those who registered in 2008 were offered the chance to save their details - if you did so, your existing registration number is still valid. If you did not opt to have your details saved, then you will need to register again this year.
Who has to register?
Everyone attending the Festival must have a registration number; either by having opted to save your details from the 2008 Festival, or by registering afresh from 1st September 2008. You will be given the option to save your registration details for future Festivals.
If you plan to buy tickets for other people, they all need to register as well.
Children aged 13, 14 and 15 will need to register.
Children aged 12 and under do not require tickets and do not need to register.
Do disabled persons need to register?
Yes. Everyone planning to buy Festival tickets needs to register. There are no separate 'disabled' weekend tickets. However, once you have secured your Festival ticket in the usual way, please contact us for an application form for access to disabled facilities on-site.
For further information, please go to the Disabled Information page.
When can I register?
Registration for the 2009 Festival opened on 1st September 2008 and will remain open until all tickets have sold.
Please note registration will be temporarily suspended for consolidation before and during the main ticket sales periods: from 5pm 4th October to 9am 6th October 2008, and again from 5pm 31st March to 9am 6th April 2009.

Seetickets will send you a second confirmation e-mail within one working day to confirm whether or not your photo has been accepted.
Please note that there will be no editing facility for registrations, so please ensure all your details are correct, and that your photo is of a suitable size and standard before submitting your details.
If you have not received a confirmation email within a day of having made an online application, please check your spam folder. If your registration is rejected you can re-apply.
Postal registrations will be confirmed within 14 working days. If you haven’t received a registration number within this period, please re submit your registration.
What do I do if I have lost my registration number?
If you have lost your registration number and cannot find your confirmation email, first check your spam folder. If the confirmation email is not there, the Festival’s ticket agency - Seetickets - will be able to help you. Get in touch with them and provide your registered surname and post code, so they can trace your info. Telephone: 0844 412 4626 or email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Anyone who opted to save their registration details in 2008 will be sent an e-mail reminding them of their registration number in late August.

Should you not receive a reminder e-mail, or you cannot remember the post code to which you registered, please re-register at www.glastonburyregistration.co.uk.

Where and how do I buy tickets?
In recent years the majority of tickets have been sold online, so this is likely to be your best option.
Tickets will be made available for online sales through www.seetickets.com. A link to the Glastonbury Festival booking page will be on the home page of this website when tickets go on sale on 5th October. Glastonbury Festival will cancel all bookings made using multi-hit software or applications to ensure everyone has a fair and equal chance of getting a ticket.
The UK ticket sales line is 0844 412 4635. Call charges will vary, according to your service provider. UK sales will not be accepted on the International Ticket Sales Line, or any other Seetickets telephone lines.
The International Ticket Sales line, 0044 1159 934 183, will be charged at standard international rates. There is a queuing system for international telephone sales, so be aware you will incur additional telephone charges at international call rates as you wait your turn. This line will also be live from 9am on Sunday 5th October (British Summer Time).
A limited number of Glastonbury Festival tickets will be available to buy through a promotion with The Western Daily Press who will be running a reader offer in Spring 2009. Please click here to read further details on their website.
No other site or agency will be allocated tickets. Any other company or individual claiming to sell Festival tickets is bogus.

How do I pay?
On October 5th 2008 you will have the opportunity to pay either a fixed £50 deposit per ticket or the full balance of £175 (plus booking fee).
You must pay the balance of your ticket by February 1st 2009. Any tickets for which the balance has not been paid by February 1st 2009 will be refunded £40; and a £10 administration fee will be retained.
Tickets purchased on April 5th or beyond must be paid for in full at point of booking.
Payment by card for UK sales (both online and by telephone) will be by the following debit cards only - Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Switch/Maestro Domestic and Solo. Credit cards will not be accepted for UK sales. For the purpose of ticket sales the UK includes Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
Postal orders and cheques raised by either a building society or a bank (as a Bankers Draft) will also be accepted as payment on the telephone ticket line. Please note personal cheques cannot be accepted. Orders will not be accepted by fax, email or personal callers.
When you confirm your order you will be given a booking reference number. Cheques or postal orders, together with that reference number, must be received by the ticket agency within five working days of the sale. The address of the ticket agency is:
Seetickets
P.O. Box 9091
NOTTINGHAM NG1 9DA.
Cheques must be made out by the bank or building society to Glastonbury Festival 2009 Ltd.
Any transaction that results in a charge back or payment dispute will be cancelled. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have sufficient funds in your account to pay for the tickets. The transaction will be completed during the five working days following the sale. You may wish to pool money in advance into one account if you are buying for friends.
How do I pay my ticket balance?
Once you have paid your deposit, the balance can be paid anytime before February 1st 2009.
The balance for your ticket must be paid in one transaction - unfortunately installments can not be accepted; however you do not have to pay the balance for all tickets at once.
You can pay the balance either on line - on www.seetickets.com/g2009 or by telephone on 0844 412 4635 (or if an overseas purchaser on 0044 1159 934 183)
If you booked more than one ticket, you have the option either to pay the balance for all the tickets you booked or alternatively, each person you booked for can pay their balance individually. Balance payments can be made from additional cards at a later date, however each ticket for which the balance is settled separately will then be processed as a single booking and will therefore be subject to £4.50 postage per individual transaction. For example, six tickets paid in full on one card will only be charged £4.50 postage; whereas if the balance payments are made separately each ticket will incur an individual postage charge.
All those who booked tickets by paying a deposit will be reminded by email in January that the balance is due.
Any tickets for which the balance has not been paid by February 1st 2009 will be refunded £40; and a £10 administration fee will be retained.
How will I know if I have a ticket or not?
When purchasing online, you will be sent a confirmation email by Seetickets with a booking reference number. Please check your spam folder if you do not get it within 24 hours. Keep the confirmation email in a safe place. If you have any queries about your purchase you will need the booking reference number.
When purchasing by telephone you will be told your booking reference number. Please write down the reference number and keep it. It is confirmation of your purchase which you may need.
You will be able to use the ticket tracker with the booking reference number to confirm your purchase.
How do I get car parking or camper/caravan tickets?
Car Parking and campervan/caravan tickets will be available to purchase in the same transaction as Festival tickets, at £10 and £65 respectively.
Car parking and campervan tickets can only be bought when paying the balance of your tickets.
Only campervans or caravans with fitted sleeping, and washing or cooking facilities will be allowed into the campervan field. Please check the website for details of which types of vehicles can use these fields.
If you decide to buy a car park or campervan ticket at a later date, once your Festival ticket sales have been confirmed you can telephone 0844 412 4626 or visit Seetickets to make the purchase. You will be required to provide your booking reference number confirming that you have already bought Festival tickets. Campervan passes usually sell out well before the Festival, so it's best to book them when you book your tickets!
Car park tickets and campervan tickets will be sent out with your Festival tickets and routing stickers.
Can I buy someone else’s unwanted car park or campervan ticket?
As with your Festival tickets, car parking and campervan tickets are non-transferable, and attempts to re-sell them may result in their cancellation. However, you have the option to cancel campervan ticket purchases, prior to May 8th by contacting Seetickets, either by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by telephoning 0844 412 4626.
How many tickets can I buy?
The maximum purchase in one transaction is six, and you may make several transactions, either online or by telephone. If you are buying online and wish to buy more than six tickets, once you have completed your booking for one lot of six tickets, click the "book more tickets" button at the end of your order, and you will be taken back to the start of the booking process. If you are buying by telephone, you can buy up to 6 tickets in a transaction and can stay on the phone for as many transactions as you wish.
Tickets may only be purchased if you have a valid registration number for each person. For example, six tickets will require six different unique registration numbers - and the details of the six individuals associated to these registration numbers. A registration number may only be used once, which will prevent inadvertent duplicate purchases.
You are only able to use one card per transaction; therefore we would recommend that you pool money into one account in advance if buying for other people.
If you book more than one ticket in October, you have the option either to pay the balance for all the tickets you booked or alternatively, each person you booked for can pay their balance individually. Balance payments can be made from additional cards at a later date. However each ticket for which the balance is settled separately will then be processed as a single booking and will therefore be subject to £4.50 postage per individual transaction. For example, six tickets paid in full on one card will only be charged £4.50 postage; whereas if the balance payments are made separately each ticket will incur an individual postage charge.
There will be cases where there may be more than one purchase from an address which has multiple occupancy. While that is not a problem, such cases will be checked to ensure there are no duplicate purchases.
Can I make a block booking so all my friends can attend the Festival?
Glastonbury Festival does not reserve group bookings. If you are planning to celebrate your wedding/handfasting/hen party/significant birthday/end of exams bash at the Festival, everyone in your group needs to register and purchase tickets in the same way as anybody else buying tickets.
Do children aged 12 and under need tickets?
Children aged 12 and under on June 24th 2009 when they arrive at the Festival, and when accompanied by a ticket holding adult, are admitted free and do not need a ticket nor do they need to register with the Festival.
It would be wise to bring ID if the child looks over the age of 12 - otherwise they may not be admitted.
What about children aged 13, 14 and 15?
Children aged 13, 14 and 15 must be accompanied at the entry gate by a ticket holding adult, aged 18 or over.
Children aged 13, 14 and 15 have to register with the Festival.
Child tickets will be the same price as adult tickets.
Child tickets can be bought by the responsible adult accompanying the child; who may have a different surname from that adult. So, for example, a parent can buy child tickets for one of their offspring and a friend.
Child tickets will carry the photograph of the registered child and will be overprinted with the word "child".
What if I live outside UK?
All international ticket buyers will have to first register online either before October 4th for the initial release of tickets, or by March 31st for the subsequent release of tickets. If you are permanently living abroad, you can only buy tickets online, or by telephoning the International Ticket Sales Line 0044 1159 934 183. No UK sales will be accepted on this line.
International ticket purchases can only be made using either Visa or Mastercard credit cards.
If you are not a UK Citizen but are currently in the UK, and have a UK debit card and UK address, you can buy in the same way as a UK resident. If you wish to use a credit card registered in your home country, you must either purchase online using your overseas address, or ring the International Telephone Sales Line.
International tickets will be sent out by registered international post. Please ensure you give your full international address when booking.
An overseas resident can ask a friend who is resident in the UK to purchase on their behalf, using that friend's UK address, or alternatively, a UK resident can purchase a ticket for an overseas resident as one of their six ticket purchases – if that overseas resident is registered.
What if I am a UK resident but abroad on October 5th?
You can purchase online with your registration number with a UK debit card.
It is not possible for you to make a telephone purchase, as overseas calls are not accepted on the UK sales line and sales made on the International Sales Line will not be processed to UK addresses. However you can ask a UK based friend to buy on your behalf, using your registration number and your contact details.
What information do I need when buying tickets?
You will need the registration number obtained during the registration process, and you will be asked for the last name of the registered person. Registration numbers must be given for EACH person wishing to attend; for example, to buy two tickets will require two different registration numbers, and the last names relating to both these numbers. No tickets may be purchased without a valid registration number.
Your postcode (or substitute postcode if you registered overseas).
You will need your debit card (credit card if overseas) readily available so you can give all the necessary information to complete your purchase, including the security number on reverse - and sufficient available funds!
The delivery address. Tickets will be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery and will require a signature, so it may be worth selecting your work address.
You need to have decided whether you'll need a car parking pass or campervan ticket. Please purchase this when making your balance payment, as they are limited in number (and non transferable).
Tickets booked by someone not going (such as a parent or friend, and booking for other people) will have the tickets sent to the first named ticket holder.
You will not be able to change the name on the ticket, nor let someone else use your ticket, so make sure the details you give are correct. Checks will be carried out to ensure that only the registered person in the photograph on the ticket will be admitted to the Festival.
What if I change address between now and the Festival?
Prior to May 8th, you will be able to change the address that you provided when you registered by contacting Seetickets, either by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by telephoning 0844 412 4626. After May 8th you will need to arrange collection from the address that you provided when registering.
When you purchase your tickets, you are able to ask for delivery to a different UK address from your home address – such as your work address. If you do this you will need to arrange ID at the point of delivery.
What ID do I need to get into the Festival?
You do not need ID to enter the Festival. All tickets will be personalised, with the full colour facial image you submit when you register.
Every ticket holder will be required to present their personalised ticket. Checks will be made at the gates. If you are not the person whose face is printed on the ticket you will be denied entry.
Children aged 12 and under, and child ticket holders, must be accompanied by an adult ticket holder.
How soon will money be processed?
The debit card sales will be put through immediately in most cases and certainly within five working days of the sale being confirmed.
Cheques will be banked as soon as they are received. Personal cheques are not accepted.
How/when will tickets be distributed?
Tickets will be sent out by Special Delivery to the addresses specified when making the sale. A signature will be required at the point of the delivery so make sure you use an address where there is likely to be someone available to receive them.
If you ordered more than one ticket, your tickets will be dispatched to the address you provided for the first name on your booking.
If you paid your balances separately, you will each receive your own ticket.
It is expected that you will receive your tickets at least 14 days before the Festival starts.
Information about the dispatch of your tickets will be available through Seetickets and Royal Mail. You can track your ticket order via www.royalmail.com by entering your Track and Trace number which is available via Seetickets order tracker – www.seetickets.com/tracker. To access the order tracker you will require your e-mail address and booking reference number.
If you are not at home when your tickets arrive, a card will be left giving you instructions on how to arrange re-delivery or pick them up from your local sorting office.
